Naju-si Supports 'Agricultural Machinery Delivery Service' to Prevent Farmers' Safety Accidents
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do, has decided to support a ‘farm machinery delivery service’ to enhance the convenience of farmers using the agricultural machinery rental center and to prevent safety accidents.
According to the city on the 12th, this farm machinery delivery service will support 50% of the round-trip transportation costs by delivery companies as the use of rental farm machinery increases with the start of the full-scale farming season, aiming to reduce the time and economic costs for farmers.
Through this delivery service support, it is expected that farming convenience will be greatly improved for female farmers, returnees to farming, and small and medium-sized farms who have had difficulties transporting farm machinery due to being located far from the rental center or lacking cargo vehicles.
Additionally, it will help stabilize the income of local delivery (freight) companies that have been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic by providing them with work opportunities.
Reservations for the delivery service can be made by visiting the main rental center or applying by phone at least three days before using the rental machinery.
Afterwards, farmers can select one of the two delivery companies, coordinate the schedule, and request transportation.
Delivery applications are available for all types of farm machinery owned by the center, and based on delivery vehicles under 1.4 tons, 50% of the round-trip transportation cost of 100,000 KRW will be supported regardless of distance.
For delivery vehicles over 1.4 tons, transportation costs vary depending on distance and the weight of the farm machinery, with up to approximately 250,000 KRW supported at 50%.

Mayor Kang In-gyu said, “Since over 90% of the center’s farm machinery can be transported by vehicles under 1.4 tons, this is expected to be a practical help for farmers’ stable farming activities,” and added, “As the full-scale farming season begins, I hope efforts will be made to promote safety education on proper operation methods and emergency response measures to prevent unfortunate accidents involving farm machinery.”
