This award is given monthly to one engineer each from a large corporation and a small-to-medium enterprise to encourage technological innovation in the industrial field and foster a culture that values engineers. Recipients receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award and a prize of 5 million KRW.
Kim Young-jong, the large corporation awardee and Research Fellow at LG Electronics Co., Ltd., was recognized for his contribution to the development of new technology that innovatively enhances the efficiency and capacity of top-loader washing machines while drastically reducing vibration noise, leading to his selection as the awardee.
Lee Eun-seok, the small-to-medium enterprise awardee and CEO of LJ E&S Co., Ltd., was acknowledged for his contribution to minimizing environmental pollution caused by coal dust through the development and commercialization of dust reduction devices and low-pressure atomizing spray systems.
