[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Judge Park Ji-yeon of the Changwon District Court Criminal Division 3 announced on the 10th that A (21), who was prosecuted for fabricating the incident as if the passenger who was injured due to A's unlicensed driving had driven instead (violation of the Road Traffic Act, instigation of crime concealment, etc.), was sentenced to 4 months in prison with a 1-year probation and fined 300,000 won.
On the early morning of September 23 last year, A was riding a motorcycle with B in an unlicensed state in Uichang-gu, Changwon, Gyeongnam, and caused a traffic accident. B sustained injuries requiring two weeks of medical treatment.
In the 119 ambulance, A told B, "Please say you drove instead," and made B lie to conceal A's crime.
Following A's words, B falsely testified to the police investigating in front of the emergency room that he had driven the motorcycle. However, the crime was soon uncovered by the investigative authorities.
A was also found to have abetted B, who rode the motorcycle in a drunk driving state a few hours before the accident.
