Pohang City Sends COVID-19 'Disaster Safety Texts' Only Once... Morning Updates on Previous Day's Status
Decision Not to Provide Simple Confirmed Case Occurrence Information
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Pohang City announced on the 10th that, following the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's relaxed guidelines for sending disaster safety messages, it has been sending disaster safety messages containing the overall COVID-19 confirmed case status that occurred during the day only once a day since the 7th.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety initially decided to significantly reduce the transmission of COVID-19 related disaster messages starting this month, but due to complaints about limited information and requests from local governments amid rising confirmed cases, it changed the guidelines on the 6th.
The new guideline allows sending the overall new confirmed case status that occurred during the day once daily. Accordingly, Pohang City limits simple confirmed case information to the city hall website or SNS, while providing the previous day's COVID-19 confirmed case status every morning through disaster safety messages.
