Jeongeup-si Promotes Training Program for Urban Agriculture Experts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 9th that it will conduct urban agriculture expert training for 30 citizens at the Agricultural Technology Center's main lecture hall from the 7th until August 24.
The city plans to nurture trainees as urban agriculture managers who will provide explanations related to urban agriculture such as school gardens and urban gardens to city residents, as well as educate and guide them as experts.
Those who complete the course and hold a national technical qualification of technician level or higher related to urban agriculture (such as agricultural chemistry, facility horticulture, organic farming, floral decoration, etc.) will be eligible to receive the national urban agriculture manager certificate granted by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
This education, operated in a total of 21 sessions, will be conducted while strictly adhering to quarantine rules such as maintaining a certain distance between trainees and wearing masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The program combines theory, practice, and field trips covering topics such as urban agriculture foundation establishment, eco-friendly farming, garden design, crop-specific cultivation management, healing agriculture, and urban agriculture program development.
