Green Smart Future School Fully Launched... Collaboration with Architecture Experts
Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Architecture for Cooperation in the Green Smart Future School Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education has joined hands with architectural experts to ensure the smooth progress of the Green Smart Future School project.
On the 9th, the Ministry of Education announced that it signed a 'Business Agreement for Cooperation in the Field of Architecture for the Green Smart Future School Project' at the Government Seoul Office on the 8th.
The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye, Choi Gyo-jin, Chairman of the National Council of Superintendents of Education, Seok Jeong-hoon, President of the Korea Institute of Registered Architects, Kang Bu-seong, President of the Architectural Institute of Korea, and Kim Yong-seong, President of the Korean Society of Interior Design.
The Green Smart Future School project is one of the ten major tasks of the Korean New Deal, aimed at transforming school buildings over 40 years old into state-of-the-art schools.
Through this agreement, a project briefing session will be held for experts such as architects affiliated with the Korea Institute of Registered Architects to participate in the design and construction of future schools.
A design competition for future schools will also be held targeting university and graduate students majoring in architecture and interior space design.
Furthermore, to activate academic and research activities related to the configuration and facilities of future school spaces, forums and seminars will be held to raise awareness. Related experts will be discovered and supported for the project schools and metropolitan and provincial offices of education.

Deputy Prime Minister Yoo emphasized, "The Green Smart Future School project requires close cooperation and support among the Ministry of Education, metropolitan and provincial offices of education, and related expert organizations above all else," and requested, "We ask for active support by fully utilizing your expertise and experience."
