Day 2: Oh Se-hoon Oversees 'COVID-19 Response'... Chairs First Countermeasure Meeting and Visits Seobuk Hospital
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the morning of the 9th at 10 a.m., Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will preside over the 'Comprehensive COVID-19 Countermeasure Meeting' at the Seoul City Hall Planning Situation Room.
Mayor Oh plans to focus on discussing measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 and minimize damage to small business owners and self-employed individuals. About 30 people, including the first and second deputy mayors, the Director of the Citizen Health Bureau, and heads of departments and divisions, will attend.
This meeting follows Mayor Oh's order to hold an emergency meeting on the 8th, his first day in office, as he closely monitored the COVID-19 situation. Mayor Oh had lunch with city executives overseeing COVID-19 response, visited the city's first vaccination center as his first policy field site, and received a report on the COVID-19 response as the first agenda item in the city administration's major issues, dedicating all his schedule except essential tasks to COVID-19 response.
On the same day, at 2 p.m., Mayor Oh will visit the 'Seoul Metropolitan Seobu Hospital' (located in Eunpyeong-gu), a dedicated COVID-19 hospital, to encourage medical staff working on the front lines and check the status of COVID-19 response.
'Seobu Hospital' is a city-operated hospital among Seoul's dedicated COVID-19 hospitals. It was designated as a dedicated COVID-19 hospital in February last year when the domestic spread of COVID-19 began to increase, and currently operates 150 dedicated beds, including container mobile beds. In addition, it operates a screening clinic and has installed and operated a 'Respiratory Dedicated Clinic' since January this year to minimize inconvenience for patients with respiratory symptoms and fever.
