This university startup club is a stage for extracurricular activists who treat employment and entrepreneurship as practical experiences. Its name is ‘Beyond.’
Composed of elite members, it is a team that pours the passion of youth inside and outside the campus through external projects, practical work, and talent donation activities like professional workers.
They have agreed to transcend the visible limits of their current position and penetrate beyond imagination. They decided to look at the so-called ‘Beyond’ world.
Beyond, a startup club of Dongmyung University’s Department of Advertising and PR (advised by Professor Gu Ja-hwi), held the first talent donation special lecture for enrolled students of the 2021 academic year on April 6.
The first lecturer of the talent donation special lecture was student Bae Chang-bin, whose topic was ‘How to Write an Advertising Proposal.’
He conveyed detailed tips on writing advertising proposals for contests to 12 juniors.
By continuously conducting special lectures during the semester, major students were able to acquire ‘practical skills’ that are difficult to learn in the curriculum.
This club produced a series of achievements last year.
In 2020, it produced a silver prize winner at the Korea Student Advertising Competition (KOSAC) national contest, and winners of excellence and other awards at the Busan-Gyeongnam regional contest. In 2021, it won the grand prize at the Haekigo Competition to strengthen Dongmyung University’s brand image.
They are also writing a ‘successful resume’ through projects that enhance corporate images commissioned by companies in the Busan area.
They were commissioned to create a logo for Shinsung Seafood company and produced a logo work. This logo is actually used as Shinsung Seafood’s logo.
Through industry-academia cooperation with DJ Media, they managed corporate Instagram accounts and produced videos, participating as PR personnel. The brand awareness of the companies increased rapidly.
Beyond has also harvested fruits by producing employment candidates for major companies and institutions such as Hanssem and the Viewer Media Foundation, based on these practical experiences.
Beyond, reorganized to 15 members by recruiting three second-year students last March, continues to participate in advertising contests and employment and entrepreneurship activities in the advertising field under the direction of Professor Gu Ja-hwi, an advertising expert from Cheil Worldwide.
