Police Book Taxi Driver Who Picked Up Passengers While Drunk
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A taxi driver who operated a taxi with passengers while intoxicated was arrested by the police.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 8th that they have booked Mr. A (63) on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.
Mr. A is suspected of operating a taxi with passengers from Jungnang-gu to Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 2:30 a.m. on the 7th while intoxicated. The breathalyzer test showed that Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was 0.073%, which is at the license suspension level.

The police responded to a passenger's report at around 2:14 a.m. stating, "The taxi driver seems to have been drinking," and apprehended Mr. A in a nearby alley at the destination. The police are investigating the circumstances under which Mr. A, the taxi driver, drove after drinking.
