‘Living in the Countryside’ is a new project implemented for the first time this year, providing residential space and return-to-farm programs for up to six months, along with job linkage. This project will be promoted by the Jangheung Hanwoo Association, which operates the Return-to-Farmers’ House.
Participants were publicly recruited through the Return-to-Farm and Return-to-Village Comprehensive Center website, and three households were selected through interviews. Before moving into the Return-to-Farmers’ House, COVID-19 tests and other quarantine measures will be strictly followed during the project.
The Jangheung Hanwoo Association (President Jeong Yeon-seung) is attracting attention with differentiated programs from other local governments, such as providing Hanwoo cattle breeding technology information, on-site breeding experience, forage harvesting, and Hanwoo meat processing experience.
Governor Jeong Jong-sun said, “I ask for solid operation so that urban residents can experience and understand various rural lifestyles through living in the countryside and settle stably,” and added, “We will actively promote urban resident attraction projects such as expanding the Return-to-Farmers’ House to expand participation opportunities for urban residents.”
