Imsil-gun Receives 'A Grade' for Horticulture Industry Evaluation for 3 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] On the 7th, Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced that it received the highest nationwide grade, A, in the ‘2021 Comprehensive Horticultural Industry Plan Implementation Performance Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
The Comprehensive Horticultural Industry Plan is a five-year (2018?2022) comprehensive development plan aimed at revitalizing the production and distribution of horticultural agricultural products.
This evaluation was conducted to promote the strengthening of local governments' roles and the activation of integrated marketing by checking whether the Comprehensive Horticultural Industry Plan was properly implemented.
The evaluation was conducted on a total of 119 sites, including 110 local governments nationwide and 9 item-wide organizations, based on achievement levels against targets for six indicators in three categories: implementation efforts, production, and distribution.
The county’s achievement this time is evaluated to be due to the high performance achieved through collaboration between the administration and the integrated marketing specialized organization, Imsil-gun Cooperative Joint Business Corporation (APC).
This year as well, it is focusing on revitalizing integrated marketing of horticultural agricultural products by investing about 600 million won of its own project funds through cooperative projects with the NongHyup (National Agricultural Cooperative Federation).
In fact, the county’s integrated marketing specialized organization, Imsil-gun Cooperative Joint Business Corporation (APC), has acted as a driving force growing more than 30% annually, achieving the highest-ever performance last year with integrated marketing handling results reaching 20 billion won.
Also, in the comprehensive evaluation of production area distribution in the NongHyup organizational sector conducted together this time, Imsil-gun Cooperative Joint Business Corporation (CEO Eom Gwiseop) received an A grade, ranking first in the province and fifth nationwide.
Accordingly, it was allocated 3.3 billion won in interest-free funds and about 20 million won in national funds for agricultural product marketing support projects.

County Governor Sim Min said, “Winning the highest grade for three consecutive years is a valuable result of efforts made through cooperation among the administration, NongHyup, and the cooperative joint corporation for the development of the horticultural industry,” and added, “We will continue to strive to increase farmers’ income by promoting multifaceted marketing to support farmers facing difficulties due to COVID-19.”
