Full Effort Until the End... Park "The Wind Direction Has Changed" vs Oh "Saw Anger, Hope, and Potential" (Comprehensive)
Park "Will Bring Spring to Citizens' Lives"
Oh "Will Reestablish Fairness and Justice"
[Asia Economy Reporters Oh Ju-yeon and Lee Hyun-joo] The candidates for Seoul mayor from both ruling and opposition parties, who campaigned vigorously until their voices were hoarse on the last day of electioneering, appealed to citizens to vote through Facebook and other platforms on the election day, the 7th. Park Young-sun, the Democratic Party candidate, said the wind direction has changed and that victory is possible if people vote, while Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate, urged voters to go to the polls, stating that poll support rates and actual vote percentages are separate matters.
That morning, Park posted on Facebook, "With proven ability and competence, honesty without lies, and sincerity, I will bring spring to the lives of Seoul citizens." She continued to criticize Oh until the end, listing words such as ‘lie judgment,’ ‘honesty,’ ‘trust,’ and ‘incompetence,’ saying, "These sincere feelings of the citizens are gathering," and "The wind direction is changing," appealing for support.
At the final campaign site in Gwanghwamun the previous day, Park also mentioned Oh’s spouse’s undeclared tax amount in her closing remarks. The Central Election Commission announced the day before that Oh’s spouse’s declared tax amount to the commission was 119,677,000 KRW, but the actual tax paid was 119,979,000 KRW, indicating some omission. The declared amount was about 300,000 KRW less than the actual payment.
Regarding this, Park criticized, "It shows how hasty and inaccurate the candidate is," framing it as a contrast between ‘incompetence’ and ‘competence’ while highlighting her own policies. Park emphasized, "If I become mayor, I will implement a ‘100,000 KRW disaster relief fund per person’ as my first official approval."
In contrast, Oh defined the past Seoul administration as a ‘lost decade’ and continued his argument for regime judgment. After finishing his last campaign at Dongdaemun Nampyeonghwa Market around 10 p.m. the previous day, Oh told reporters, "The past 10 years have been a period of stagnation for Seoul," and "I hope people consider the significance of this election." He remained cautious about the high poll support rates, saying, "Support rates and vote percentages are completely separate," encouraging people to vote.
At midnight that day, Oh posted on Facebook, "I know well that people support me not because I am outstanding," and added, "I understand the sentiment of ‘Save Korea in crisis, give a chance, and watch if I do well.’ I will definitely pass the test." He said he saw anger, hope, resilience, and potential during the campaign period and pledged, "I will create a country where justice and common sense prevail, a Korea we can be proud of." He emphasized the words ‘fairness,’ ‘justice,’ and ‘coexistence.’

Finally, Oh said, "I will use my experience and expertise as Seoul mayor properly and return it to the citizens as pride," and urged, "Please make sure to vote and show the power of the people." During the official 15-day campaign period, Oh traveled approximately 526 km (by vehicle, excluding walking).
