Gwangju Nam-gu to Launch Youth Lecture Series Starting from the 8th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) is consecutively launching a series of youth lecture programs where young instructors share know-how and more with youth, providing opportunities for peers to experience work in various fields.
According to Nam-gu on the 7th, the youth lecture programs will be held continuously from the 8th through July at Cheongnyeon Warak, a hub space for local youth.
The youth lectures introduced this time include three courses: ‘Youth Village-ro’, ‘Commercialization of Talent’, and ‘Leather Craft’, with about 10 participants per course.
First, the ‘Youth Village-ro’ course will be held every Thursday from the 8th until June 20th.
It covers the process of planning village projects by utilizing human and material resources of the village and growing into a village youth through this experience.
Participating youth will write detailed plans for the village projects they envision and present their final project plans through team activities and discussions.
The ‘Commercialization of Talent’ course is a session to learn about product planning, mockup design for prototype production before mass production, research for cultural product creation, and product marketing.
It will be held every Monday and Tuesday from next month’s 3rd to June 1st, focusing mainly on practical exercises such as design and prototype production.
The ‘Leather Craft’ course aims to teach leather crafting techniques and the uses of various materials, conducted in a way that participants record the process of making their works in a vlog (a combination of video and blog).
The course is scheduled from June to July, starting with an introductory course making tassel keyrings using leftover leather, then learning skills to make card wallets, pencil cases, and clutch bags with attached metal accessories.
