The campaign was announced at the "1st Social Value and Green Finance Council" held last month and reflects the will of employees and the entire group to practice ESG as part of NongHyup Financial's ESG management strategy.
The campaign name, "Let's Make an Effort for ESG," combines the English letters E, S, G with Korean vowels to increase visibility and uses a pronunciation structure similar to the English pronunciation of ESG to enhance recognition.
The campaign consists of detailed practical actions under four slogans: "Let's Make an Effort for Eco-friendly Activities," "Let's Make an Effort to Reduce Carbon Emissions," "Let's Make an Effort for Social Contribution," and "Let's Make an Effort for Sharing and Donation." It includes not only employee activities but also company-level actions such as replacing business vehicles with eco-friendly vehicles and switching office lighting to LED lighting.
In particular, practical measures such as using personal tumblers will be added later considering the COVID-19 quarantine situation, showing deep consideration even in the campaign content.
Additionally, from April to November, the first Wednesday of every week will be designated as "Effort Day," and each department and branch will select one main slogan each month to establish campaign activities suited to their circumstances, with all NongHyup Financial employees participating in the campaign activities.
Furthermore, the campaign will be promoted through the company's IT systems, dedicated apps, and internal broadcasts, and plans are in place to reward outstanding employees and departments in campaign execution in the future.
