'Controversial Remarks' Jang Kyung-hoon, CEO of Hana Card, Resigns Voluntarily
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Jang Kyung-hoon, CEO of Hana Card, who caused controversy with misogynistic remarks and abusive language during an internal meeting, has announced his intention to resign.
On the 6th, Jang stated in a press release, "The company's audit committee was held this afternoon, and regardless of the audit committee's results, I intend to take moral responsibility and resign to avoid causing any harm to the company."
Earlier, at the end of last month, a recording of Jang was released through media reports. Jang caused controversy by stating in an official meeting that the company's credit card should hold the same value as a wife living together, not a room salon woman. It was also confirmed that he directed abusive language and harsh remarks at meeting participants.

The National Office Financial Services Labor Union held a press conference on the 5th in front of Hana Card headquarters in Euljiro, Seoul, urging Jang's resignation, saying, "Comparing the card products to women or dividing women into categories based on male standards clearly reveals CEO Jang Kyung-hoon's low gender sensitivity and human rights awareness."
