The Korea Forest Service announced on the 6th that a total of 19 candidates passed the '1st Wood Education Expert Qualification Examination' recently conducted.
Wood Education Experts are specialized personnel who convey knowledge related to wood and promote the use of wood in daily life.
The qualification is granted after completing 176 hours of training at a Wood Education Expert training institution and passing the examination.
This year's exam was the first held since the introduction of the Wood Education Expert system in January last year. The candidates took the specialized wood education course at the Woodism Wood Utilization Research Institute in Daejeon before taking the exam, with a total of 20 candidates.
Those who obtain the Wood Education Expert qualification will teach information about wood, such as its carbon storage capacity, and woodworking skills at wood experience and education facilities like Wood Culture Experience Centers.
Details such as the designation status of Wood Education Expert training institutions and recruitment announcements for trainees can be found on the Wood Information Portal.
The Korea Forest Service plans to recruit additional training institutions in the second half of this year and conduct at least one more qualification exam within the year.
