Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hosts University Student Content Contest Utilizing Traditional Record Culture
Discovery of Content Planning Proposals for Commercializing Films, Dramas, and Animation Using Ancient Documents and Diaries
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Institute of Korean Studies announced on the 6th that they will hold a contest for university students to create content utilizing traditional record culture. This competition highlights the infinite possibilities of traditional record culture that connects the past and present. They are looking for content plans that can be commercialized into films, dramas, animations, comics, etc., using materials such as old documents and diaries.
Any university or graduate student (excluding doctoral candidates) can participate by forming a team of 3 to 4 members. Plans can be submitted on the Story Theme Park website from the 7th to the 14th of next month. Eight selected teams will be provided with an educational guidance program to help improve their plans. Awards include the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award (10 million KRW) for the grand prize and the Korea Institute of Korean Studies President Award (5 million KRW) for the excellence prize, among others.

Lee Jin-sik, Director of Cultural Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "Traditional record culture contributes to diversifying creative content," adding, "We will expand support to discover young talents who will lead the new Korean Wave and foster a creative culture."
