Imsil-gun Selected for Resident-Led Tourism Dure Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] On the 5th, Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced that the 2021 Tour Dure project supporting resident-led local tourism revitalization, promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, and Tour Dure PD Jeong Yujin were finally selected.
The Tour Dure project is a program promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since 2013 to establish a resident-led tourism industry model within the region.
It is a project that supports local residents to directly start businesses related to tourism using local tourism resources as material.
The Tour Dure Producer (PD) plays a role in supporting and nurturing local residents who want to start tourism-related businesses.
They discover and organize resident businesses on site, support start-up and management, and act as intermediaries between government offices and residents, and between residents and experts.
Jeong Yujin was finally confirmed as Tour Dure PD after document evaluation, presentation, and interview evaluation by an expert evaluation team, as well as completing three months of capacity-building training, business plan presentation, and review committee.
The Tour Dure PD receives activity expenses funded by the national government from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and resident tourism businesses receive about 100 million won annually for business planning, start-up consultation, management practical training, product market development, and promotion.
In particular, for three to a maximum of five years, the PD will closely support the discovery and organization of resident businesses, capacity building, start-up and management improvement, and network building according to the conditions of the region and resident businesses.
PD Jeong Yujin is planning various business plans such as "My Path Found in the King's Forest," which tells the story of Seongsusan Mountain, and "Making Imsil Cheese Bread," where people can learn about and experience the history of Imsil cheese.
Starting from the 7th, the Tour Dure project will be officially launched with the Tour Dure PD, including forming resident communities and business development plans.
