Jinju City Library Selected for the '2021 Humanities on the Road' Public Contest Project
Planned Program Combining Humanities Lectures and Explorations
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 5th that the Jinju City Library has been selected for the '2021 Humanities on the Road Contest Project' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korean Library Association.
This project is operated to realize humanities in daily life by having local public libraries take the lead in planning and providing various humanities and cultural programs to local residents.
Accordingly, the city library plans to operate a humanities program under the theme "How to Live Wisely in the New Normal Era? Three Humanities to Build the Foundation of My Life" over 10 sessions from July to October, exploring ways to wisely navigate the post-COVID-19 era through new values and meanings.
With the selection for the 'Humanities on the Road' project, the city will receive 9 million won in operating expenses and run the program consisting of 6 lectures, 3 explorations, and 1 follow-up meeting, open to all Jinju citizens.

A city library official stated, "Through the Humanities on the Road project, we aim to overcome the COVID-19 crisis together and provide time for humanities insight and deep reflection on life," adding, "We hope this will be an opportunity for citizens to gain the strength to live a relaxed and enriched life through humanities in their daily lives."
