According to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Han Sangwon · Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) on the 5th, the Gwangju Christian Council donated 24,205,740 won on the 4th.
The donation is known to have been raised by churches and church members in the Gwangju area who participated to help neighbors in need from January last year to March this year.
Pastor Lee Sangbok stated, “I hope that the donation filled with the love of churches and church members will help the marginalized neighbors who are going through difficult times.”
On the same day, Gwangju Junghung Church (Senior Pastor Kim Seongwon) also delivered a donation of 10 million won filled with the love of the congregation to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea on the occasion of Easter.
At the donation ceremony, Senior Pastor Kim Seongwon, Senior Elder Joo Namsik, Welfare Director Han Gwansuk, Secretary General Lee Seongdo of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, and church members attended.
The entire congregation of Gwangju Junghung Church requested that the donation be used for homeless people and disadvantaged groups within Gwangju.
