Gwangju City Council "Actively Cooperates with Credible Institutions' Verification Requests Regarding Real Estate Speculation Allegations"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan Council (Chairman Kim Yong-jip) announced a statement on the 5th, pledging to take the lead in eradicating real estate speculation and creating an honest public service during the remaining term of the 8th council, following the LH employee real estate speculation incident.
Through the statement, the Gwangju Metropolitan Council stated, "In cases where allegations of real estate speculation by council members arise, we will actively cooperate with verification requests from credible institutions such as investigative agencies, the Board of Audit and Inspection, and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission."
It continued, "If real estate speculation charges are confirmed in the future, we promise to take strong disciplinary actions against the relevant council members through the Ethics Special Committee."
