IBK Industrial Bank Launches ESG Campaign to Monitor Paper Reduction in Real Time
'Let's Plant Trees in Our Hearts' Campaign
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 5th that it will conduct an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) campaign called 'Planting Trees in Our Hearts,' involving bank employees in celebration of Arbor Day.
The campaign involves installing the 'Green Printer' program distributed by the Ministry of Environment, which reduces paper and toner usage through saving print options such as N-up printing, duplex printing, and faded printing. Participants can check their personal paper savings, greenhouse gas emission reductions, and tree planting effects in real time.
IBK Industrial Bank established a dedicated ESG team in the first half of this year and is actively pursuing ESG management by setting up an ESG committee and joining international standard initiatives. Additionally, the bank has expanded the use of electronic documents to create a paperless office and implemented non-face-to-face document submission and extension services, saving approximately 42 million sheets of paper annually.
