Samsung Life Launches 'Kkum Namu Children's Insurance' Offering Comprehensive Coverage for Diagnosis, Hospitalization, and Surgery
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Samsung Life Insurance announced that starting from the 6th, it will sell the 'Kkumnamu Children's Insurance,' which provides coverage for illnesses and accidents up to age 30 for children from fetus stage to 15 years old, ahead of Family Month in May.
This product is a renewal of the 'Kkumnamu Love Insurance,' which set a sales record of over 180,000 cases within ten days of its launch in 1997. It features comprehensive coverage including the three major diagnoses, hospitalization, surgery, and outpatient care under a single main insurance policy.
The three major diagnoses include cancer such as leukemia, brain and central nervous system cancer, malignant lymphoma including multiple pediatric cancers, cerebrovascular diseases, and ischemic heart diseases.
In addition to basic coverage for hospitalization and surgery, it also covers essential protections for children such as emergency room visits, accident disabilities, accidental fractures (excluding tooth fractures), cast treatment, and burns.
It also covers treatment costs for influenza antiviral drugs. If diagnosed with influenza and prescribed antiviral drugs such as Tamiflu, coverage is provided once per year per prescription. Growth care services are offered, including growth plate support tests, available until age 18 based on the 30-year maturity product.
Customers can choose between a 20-year maturity or maturity at age 30, and a maturity congratulatory payment is provided to be used for marriage funds or university entrance funds upon maturity.
