Over 200,000 Units Sold in Cumulative Sales During ‘Olban Yetnal Tongdak’ Live Broadcast

Shinsegae Food announced on the 5th that Olban Old-fashioned Whole Chicken has sold an average of 5,000 units per day since its first live broadcast on the 25th of last month, exceeding 200,000 units in cumulative sales within five months of its launch.
The Olban Old-fashioned Whole Chicken live broadcast, held from 7 PM to 8 PM on the 25th of last month, attracted 81,000 viewers, ranking first in its time slot, and sold 1,700 units?three times the target of 500 units. Additionally, through a special sale held until 12 PM on the day of the live broadcast, a total of 3,000 units were sold.
In line with the newtro (new + retro) trend, the live broadcast featuring entertainer Tak Jae-hoon gained popularity as its taste, easy cooking method, and cost-effectiveness became widely known not only among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) but also among middle-aged and older consumers, according to Shinsegae Food.
To continue the popularity of Olban Old-fashioned Whole Chicken, Shinsegae Food plans to accelerate live broadcasts in collaboration with major e-commerce, home shopping, and live commerce companies.
To this end, Shinsegae Food will hold a special live broadcast for Olban Old-fashioned Whole Chicken through SSG.com’s SSG Live on the 7th. During this live broadcast, two Olban Old-fashioned Whole Chickens (four chickens) will be offered at the largest discount ever (26%) for 19,900 won. Additionally, 20 customers who provide purchase verification during the broadcast will receive Starbucks coffee vouchers. An event will also be held to select two customers with the highest purchases to receive two Boto air fryers.
Furthermore, Shinsegae Food plans to expand live broadcasts of Olban Old-fashioned Whole Chicken through collaborations with e-commerce channels such as Naver and Kakao, including a live broadcast on Shinsegae TV Shopping scheduled for the 14th.
