Argentina President Tests Positive for COVID-19 Despite Receiving Russian Vaccine
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] The President of Argentina tested positive for COVID-19 despite being vaccinated.
According to major foreign media including AFP on the 3rd, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez posted on his Twitter, "I had a slight headache with a fever of 37.3 degrees and took a COVID-19 antigen test, which came back positive."
President Fernandez explained that he took an additional COVID-19 diagnostic test using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and is currently awaiting the test results.
Turning 62 on the 2nd, President Fernandez added, "I wish I could have ended my birthday without this news, but my current condition is good."
It is known that President Fernandez had already received two doses of the Russian-made 'Sputnik V' COVID-19 vaccine earlier this year.

President Fernandez has entered self-quarantine according to quarantine procedures but continues to perform his presidential duties.
