'4·7 By-election' Early Voting Last Day, 1 PM Nationwide Turnout 14.6%... Seoul 15.4%
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] As of 1 PM on the second day of the 'April 7 By-election Early Voting,' the nationwide average turnout rate was recorded at 14.61%.
According to the National Election Commission, as of 1 PM on this day, out of 12,161,624 registered voters nationwide, 1,776,918 participated in early voting. The early voting rate at 1 PM on the second day of the 2018 local elections was 13.98%.
With the early voting rate for this election exceeding that of the 2018 local elections by more than 0.6 percentage points, attention is focused on whether the final early voting turnout will surpass 20.14% (2018 local elections).
In the Seoul mayoral election, 1,295,706 out of 8,425,869 voters participated, recording a 15.38% early voting rate, while in the Busan mayoral election, 406,117 out of 2,936,301 voters participated, marking a 13.83% early voting rate.
