Hanwha Hotels & Resorts Establishes 'Aqua Planet' Through Physical Division of Aquarium Business Unit

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hanwha Hotels & Resorts announced on the 2nd that it has established a new corporation, Aqua Planet Co., Ltd., by physically splitting off its aquarium business division. On the 1st, Aqua Planet Co., Ltd. held an inauguration ceremony and officially began operating as an independent management entity.
The company stated that this split was intended to separate Hanwha Hotels & Resorts' leisure businesses such as hotels, resorts, and golf from the aquarium operation division, allowing each business division to independently focus on their core operations. It explained that the aquarium business division can now respond more quickly and flexibly to issues through independent decision-making. Through the split, each company has secured expertise and business competitiveness for sustainable growth in their respective business areas.
Kim Kyung-su, CEO of Aqua Planet Co., Ltd., said, "This split was carried out to strengthen the expertise of the aquarium business division," adding, "We will review various business operation directions considering current and future competitiveness."
