Expressing Love for the Environment in My Heart... Gwangjin-gu 'Environmental Drawing and Writing' Contest
Recruiting Entries for the 26th Environment Day 'Love for Environment Drawing and Writing Contest'... Open to Children and Youth, Submissions Accepted Until the 30th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is recruiting entries for the "Love for Environment Drawing and Writing Contest" until April 30 to raise awareness among children and adolescents about the importance of the environment.
Now in its 11th year, this contest was organized to commemorate the "26th World Environment Day," to promote the importance of environmental protection and to spread awareness of practical actions.
Participants include elementary, middle, and high school students in the area, as well as children and adolescents of the corresponding age groups, and submissions are accepted in two categories: drawing and writing.
The contest themes include ▲ environmental issues such as climate change and pollution ▲ the value and importance of the environment ▲ environmental protection activities in daily life such as energy saving and resource recycling ▲ and experiences related to environmental protection. Participants can write about any feelings or experiences they have had in these areas.
For drawings, lower-grade elementary students should use 8-cut paper, while upper-grade elementary, middle, and high school students should use 4-cut paper, expressing their work freely in watercolor, crayon, oil painting, or other formats.
For writing, submissions can be prose or poetry, with a length limit of up to 3 A4 pages or 6 sheets of 200-character manuscript paper.
A panel of experts in each field will judge the entries based on thematic relevance, artistic quality, and emotional appeal, selecting a total of 26 winners by mid-May: 4 grand prizes, 4 excellence awards, and 5 encouragement awards per category.
Students wishing to participate should complete the application form along with their submission and submit them in person or by mail to the Environmental Division of Gwangjin-gu Office by the 30th. Writing submissions can also be sent via email.
The winning works will be published in a collection to be used for promoting environmental and energy policies and as educational materials. For more details, please contact the Environmental Division.
