"Flustered"... Driver Who Fled After Accident Appears After 13 Hours

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A man in his 40s who fled after crashing into a tollgate structure while trying to enter a highway tollgate appeared at the police station 13 hours after the accident.
Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station announced on the 1st that Mr. A was booked without detention on charges of failure to take action after an accident under the Road Traffic Act.
Mr. A is accused of crashing into a structure while driving an SUV into the Gojan Tollgate on the 3rd Gyeongin Expressway in Gojan-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, around 9:40 p.m. the previous day, and then fleeing the scene.
There were no casualties from the accident, but the entrance was temporarily blocked as the vehicle was left unattended.
The police identified Mr. A through a vehicle number inquiry and requested his appearance.
Mr. A appeared at the police station around 11 a.m. on the day, about 13 hours after the accident.
At the police station, Mr. A stated, "I was flustered and physically uncomfortable at the time of the accident, so I left the scene."
The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances, including whether Mr. A was driving under the influence and his escape route.

The police said, "Mr. A claims he was not driving under the influence," and added, "We will further investigate his actions prior to the accident."
