Muan-gun Opens Nostalgia Travel Spot Bridging Generations with "Back Then, It Was Like That"

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 1st that it held the opening ceremony of the Muan Traditional Living Culture Theme Park at the old Mongtan Nam Elementary School in Cheongyong-ri, Mongtan-myeon.
About 40 people attended the opening ceremony, including Muan-gun Governor Kim San, Provincial Assembly member Na Gwang-guk, county council members, heads of institutions and social organizations, and residents. A plaque of appreciation was presented to Mr. Yoon Geun-taek from Haeje-myeon, who donated artifacts that laid the foundation for the birth of the Traditional Living Culture Theme Park.
Some attendees who toured the interior of the exhibition hall on that day showed signs of recalling memories, saying, "That's how it was back then."
Governor Kim San said, "These days, when communication, empathy, and healing are more needed than ever, I hope this place becomes a space for communication and empathy across generations and a place of healing through a journey of memories." He added, "We will develop the Traditional Living Culture Theme Park into a representative tourist attraction along the Yeongsan River by linking it with the nearby Hoisan Baekryeonji and Military Theme Park."

Meanwhile, the Traditional Living Culture Theme Park located at the old Mongtan Nam Elementary School consists of a living culture experience center where visitors can vividly experience and observe the modern life of the 1960s and 70s, a storage facility, an outdoor experience area, and a photo zone. It is closed every Monday.
