[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu announced that on the morning of the 1st, District Mayor Lee Chang-woo received the AstraZeneca vaccine at the Dongjak-gu Public Health Center in his capacity as the head of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters responsible for COVID-19 prevention.
Mayor Lee Chang-woo completed the vaccination along with eight elderly members of the Dongjak-gu Senior Happiness Corporation and three district office staff at 8 a.m. that day.
This vaccination was carried out in accordance with the government's "COVID-19 Vaccination Project Guidelines" and was promoted to increase residents' trust in the vaccine and participation rate, in line with the vaccination of seniors aged 75 and older that began on the 1st.
After completing the vaccination, Mayor Lee moved to Sadang General Gymnasium and signed a "Business Agreement on the Operation of the COVID-19 Vaccination Center" with Kim Byung-kwan, director of Seoul Metropolitan Boramae Hospital, agreeing to jointly cooperate for the stable operation of the center.
The district has set up a vaccination center at Sadang General Gymnasium (232 Sadang-ro 27-gil), where about 60 professionals including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and administrative staff dispatched from Boramae Hospital reside to assist seniors with their vaccinations.
Additionally, starting from the 5th, four shuttle buses will be deployed around Namseong Station to safely transport seniors to the vaccination center, operating at 10-minute intervals.
Furthermore, to professionally address residents' questions related to vaccination, the district has been operating its own COVID-19 Vaccination Call Center since the 2nd of last month.
Meanwhile, as of the 30th of last month, the vaccination consent rate among seniors aged 75 and older in Dongjak-gu was approximately 82.0%, ranking third highest among Seoul's autonomous districts.

Mayor Lee Chang-woo of Dongjak-gu said, "As the head of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters responsible for the COVID-19 situation, I hope that residents who still have concerns about the vaccine will feel reassured and participate in the vaccination through this vaccination." He added, "The district will do its best to prepare so that about 280,000 residents, which is 70% of the district's population, can complete vaccination by the end of October before the autumn flu season."
