'Seoul City Tour Bus' Resumes Operation from the 3rd... Discounted Fares Applied Until June
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul City Tour Bus, which had stopped operating since March last year to prevent the spread of COVID-19, will run again through downtown Seoul.
On the 1st, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the Seoul City Tour Bus service will resume from the 3rd. Considering the ongoing COVID-19 situation, among the six total routes, only four routes will partially resume operation: ▲Downtown Palaces and Namsan Course ▲Night Course ▲Traditional Culture Course ▲Hangang Jamsil Course (Traditional Culture and Hangang Jamsil Courses operate only on weekends). Passengers can freely get on and off at any stop along the Seoul City Tour Bus routes.
Discounted fares will be applied temporarily until June. Tickets can be reserved in advance on the websites of each City Tour Bus operator, and on-site purchases are also available. Thorough quarantine management will be conducted to ensure passenger safety. Key quarantine measures include preemptive COVID-19 testing for City Tour Bus staff, partial route operation and extended intervals between buses, boarding limits according to social distancing levels, passenger list recording and temperature checks, and prohibition of eating inside the vehicles.
Lee Byung-chul, Director of the Seoul Tourism Industry Division, said, “We will do our best to ensure that both Seoul citizens and tourists can travel safely and conveniently on the Seoul City Tour Bus through thorough quarantine management.” He added, “The limited resumption of the Seoul City Tour Bus service will serve as a starting point for Seoul tourism to restart and bring new vitality and enjoyment to daily life, which has been exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.”
