Gimhae City Operates Special Collection Period for Local Tax Arrears in the First Half of 2021
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, will operate the '2021 First Half Local Tax Delinquency Special Collection Period' from April to June.
As of the end of March, Gimhae City's delinquent amount is 38.6 billion KRW in local taxes. The city plans to actively respond by strengthening delinquency measures such as seizure and confiscation against payment evaders, and administrative sanctions including public disclosure of names and travel bans, with the goal of ensuring collection.
However, for small-scale delinquent taxpayers who have difficulty paying due to temporary economic crises such as COVID-19, the city will carefully consider deferring delinquency measures and administrative sanctions on the condition of installment payments, and utilize collection deferral systems to support economic recovery.
