Gangnam Partners Transferred to Prosecution for Stealing 670 Million Won from Vacant House
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A group who stole several hundred million won in cash from a vacant house in Gangnam, Seoul, has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 31st, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested four people in their 20s, including A (29), on charges of special theft and sent them to the prosecution.
They are accused of breaking into a multi-family house in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, around 2:30 p.m. on the 2nd and stealing approximately 670 million won in cash. A, a business partner of the victim, learned that a large amount of cash for business funds was kept at the victim's residence and instructed B (26), saying, "If you bring money out of the house, I will give you 100 million won," ordering the crime.
Accordingly, B stole the money through his friend C (26) and C's junior D (25), and gave them 30 million won and 16 million won respectively as rewards. It is reported that all the suspects are senior and junior acquaintances from Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The police caught them through analysis of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and also arrested another person who helped B escape, sending them to the prosecution. It is known that they returned 257 million won of the stolen money to the victim. The police are investigating the use of the remaining stolen funds.
