Programs for Middle-Aged Drivers and Security Guard Employment Support Established... 'Women Employment Classes' Including Childcare Cook Training for Career-Interrupted Women and Job-Seeking Women Operated
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu is preparing customized employment support programs for middle-aged people and women.
On the 31st, Guro-gu announced, "We will open employment support programs targeting middle-aged people and job-seeking women to provide nonstop support from education to employment."
First, Guro-gu operates the "Village Bus Driver Training Program." The "Village Bus Driver Training Program" is a project that trains and supports customized personnel for local village bus companies experiencing manpower shortages.
It will be conducted in three stages from May to August: basic, driving skill improvement, and field training.
The basic course consists of a detailed driving aptitude test, obtaining a bus driving license, and basic etiquette education. The driving skill improvement course is conducted through 80 hours of bus driving practice at the Korea Transportation Safety Authority Hwaseong Transportation Safety Experience Education Center.
Field training is a course where prospective hires operate actual bus routes under the guidance of current employees. The education schedule may change depending on the COVID-19 situation.
The recruitment target is 20 people aged 26 to under 60 who hold a large vehicle license, with priority given to middle-aged people and women with career interruptions.
Those who wish to participate can apply through the Women's Workforce Development Center website by May 7. Phone reservations followed by in-person applications are also possible.
Guro-gu also operates the "Security Guard Employment Support Program."
It consists of theoretical education such as the Security Services Act and Crime Prevention Theory, and practical education including accident prevention measures, security office work, and arrest and self-defense techniques. It will be held from April 19 to 21, 8 hours a day for 3 days. The training fee is fully supported by the district.
The education target is 40 residents aged 40 to under 70. Applications are accepted until April 14 at the Job Plus Center on the first floor of the district office.
A "Women's Employment Class" for women with career interruptions and women preparing for employment will also be opened.
The Women's Employment Class is prepared with the "Daycare Cook Training Course" and the "Climate Environment Energy Instructor Training Course." The daycare cook training course runs for 3 months from April to June, and the climate environment energy instructor training course runs for 2 months in June and July.
The recruitment quota is 20 people each, and participants must bear part of the tuition fee. For detailed information such as the education schedule and application method, contact the Guro Women's Workforce Development Center.
A Guro-gu official said, "We hope this program will be a source of hope for middle-aged and female job seekers preparing for a new start," and added, "We will continue to do our best to prepare programs that provide practical help for employment."
