Gangbuk-gu, Recruitment of 34 Newlywed Rental Housing 'Happy House' Tenants
Recruitment of 34 Households for 4 Locations Targeting Newlyweds Within 7 Years of Marriage, Prospective Newlyweds, and Single-Parent Families... Applications Accepted via Email or Registered Mail from April 5 to 16
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) is collaborating with Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation to supply public housing for newlyweds called ‘Happy House’ and is recruiting tenants for these residences.
The district prepared this project to alleviate the housing burden for newlyweds and prospective newlyweds who are struggling to secure a place to live.
The target housing includes a total of 34 units across four locations: the newly offered 4th phase (Samyang-ro 123-gil 40-12, 10 units), as well as remaining units from the 1st phase (Samyang-ro 123-gil 39-1, 7 units), 2nd phase (Insubong-ro 72-gil 15-18, 9 units), and 3rd phase (Samyang-ro 123-gil 40-8, 8 units) of Happy House.
‘Happy House’ units range from 40.02 to 55.19 square meters in exclusive area, are five stories tall, and feature rooftop rest areas and community spaces. All four locations are within a 10-minute walk from Gaori Station on the Ui-Sinseol Line.
Applicants must be newlyweds married within 7 years as of the tenant recruitment announcement date, prospective newlyweds who plan to register their marriage before the move-in date, or single-parent families with children under 6 years old, and must meet certain income criteria.
The deposit and monthly rent are determined based on the housing area and the previous year’s average monthly income.
Deposits range from 18.36 million to 40.5 million KRW, and monthly rent is set between approximately 240,000 and 520,000 KRW.
The initial contract period is 2 years, and if tenant qualifications are maintained, residents can renew every 2 years up to 9 times, allowing a maximum stay of 20 years.
Interested parties can check eligibility and required documents through the announcement posted on the district office website starting March 31, and apply via email (201201276@gangbuk.go.kr) or registered mail (13 Dobong-ro 89-gil, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, 2nd floor, Senior Welfare Division, Housing Welfare Team) from April 5 to 16.
The district will select tenants considering continuous residence period in Gangbuk-gu, age, number of children, and other factors, and plans to announce the selected tenants on July 2. Results will be posted on the Gangbuk-gu Office website and individual notifications will be sent to the winners.
