Mapo-gu, Recruiting Participants for Mobile Healthcare
Implementation of Mobile Healthcare Business from April 2021, Expert Management via Mobile App... First 140 Applicants Accepted, Health Status Data Automatically Sent to Health Centers via Smartwatch
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) will implement the non-face-to-face customized health management service through a mobile app, the ‘Mobile Healthcare Project,’ starting in April to support resident health management, which can be easily neglected due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The ‘Public Health Center Mobile Healthcare Project’ is a program that provides non-face-to-face customized health consultation services anytime and anywhere through a mobile app (APP) by public health center experts to participants who can use smartphones.
Participants will visit the public health center 2 to 3 times over a total of 24 weeks (6 months) to receive blood tests, blood pressure measurements, body measurements, and body composition tests. Based on the test results, they will receive consultations in areas such as nutrition and exercise, as well as various health information.
Additionally, health information such as participants’ step count, walking distance, heart rate, and calories burned, collected through smartwatches (wrist-type activity trackers) provided by the district, will be automatically transmitted to public health center professionals (doctors, nurses, nutritionists, physical activity experts, coordinators) for customized management.
Moreover, through the mobile app (APP), participants can receive continuous monitoring of exercise volume and personalized exercise consultation services. If participants record additional information such as their exercise volume and nutritional intake in the mobile app, this information is also transmitted to the public health center, enabling the setting of health management goals and consultation services tailored to the individual.
Eligibility for participation in the Mobile Healthcare Project is limited to Mapo-gu residents aged 19 or older or those working in Mapo. Patients with diseases or those taking medication are excluded.
Recruitment is on a first-come, first-served basis for 140 people. Priority registration is given to new participants and those with multiple health risk factors (blood pressure, blood sugar, triglycerides, waist circumference, HDL cholesterol) that meet the risk group criteria.
