Cancellation of Gwangjin-gu Easter Joint Worship Service... Implementation of Special Quarantine Measures
March 29?April 11: Two-Week Special Quarantine Measures in Gwangjin-gu... Gwangjin-gu Christian Council Cancels Easter Joint Worship Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will implement a special quarantine week in Gwangjin-gu for two weeks from March 29 to April 11 in line with the extension of social distancing to prepare for social distancing and quarantine, which may become lax with the arrival of spring.
First, the district office, concerned about the large gathering of people for the Easter joint worship on April 4, requested the Gwangjin-gu Christian Council and the 8th Seongdong-Gwangjin District of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul, East Seoul area, to minimize events and comply with quarantine rules, with Gwangjin-gu Mayor Kim Seon-gap personally making the request.
Accordingly, the Gwangjin-gu Christian Council decided to cancel the Easter joint worship through an internal meeting on the 27th to actively support Gwangjin-gu's quarantine activities. The Easter joint worship scheduled to be held at the Korean Central Church sanctuary on April 4 was canceled.
The Gwangjin-gu Christian Council said, "We are always grateful that Gwangjin-gu continuously supports quarantine supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers," and added, "Religious leaders will actively participate in establishing a flawless quarantine system until the day COVID-19 ends."
The 8th Seongdong-Gwangjin District of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul, East Seoul area, also decided to comply with quarantine rules and proceed with a minimal number of participants.
The district strengthens self-quarantine management due to the spread of infection among family members. From the epidemiological investigation stage to monitoring self-quarantined individuals, the quarantine manual is rechecked step-by-step, and families of confirmed cases are guided to enter self-quarantine facilities without exception.
In addition, the district strengthens cooperation with hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies to recommend pre-COVID testing when visiting these places with symptoms such as colds.
Furthermore, quarantine rules and notices on the allowed number of users are posted at indoor multi-use facilities, and the preparation of visitor logs is made mandatory for all entrants.
Along with this, the district enforces mandatory quarantine rule checklists for workers at schools, childcare facilities, and nursing homes.
The district thoroughly manages quarantine at crowded multi-use facilities prone to spring congestion, such as Achasan hiking trails and the banks of Jungnangcheon Stream, and conducts frequent quarantine inspections of food service and various service industries due to the increase in spring outing visitors.
Additionally, special inspections are conducted in accordance with the revised living quarantine rules for bathhouse businesses, including a one-hour usage limit, prohibition of use by symptomatic persons, and mandatory electronic entry logs.
Moreover, the district strengthens quarantine management at early voting stations and polling stations for the April 7 by-election, deciding to conduct preemptive testing for all workers nationwide for the first time.
