Gwangju City to Pilot 'Gwangju-Style Public Delivery App' Starting April 1
Consumers Order on 'WEMAKEPRICE O'... Franchise Stores Consult via Homepage
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that the "Gwangju-type Public Delivery App," prepared to ease the burden on small business owners, has completed all preparations and will enter pilot operation starting next month on the 1st.
"Gwangju Public Delivery" is hosted by the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Foundation and can be used through the "Wemakeprice O" app.
Small business organizations such as the Korea Food Service Industry Association, Franchise Association, Small Business Federation, and Market Merchants Association cooperate, and Gwangju Metropolitan City provides administrative and financial support.
The main benefits include no membership fees or advertising fees for affiliated stores. The brokerage commission is set at 2%, of which 1% is accumulated as a consumer payback. Considering that the brokerage commissions of large private delivery app companies range from 6.8% to 12.5%, this is very affordable.
Consumers can make online payments with the Gwangju Sangsaeng Card, which offers up to a 10% discount. From April 1st to 4th, for four days, the first customers purchasing on the day will receive a 5,000 KRW discount coupon on a first-come, first-served basis, and every Wednesday, first customers purchasing on the day will receive a 3,000 KRW discount coupon on a first-come, first-served basis.
Affiliated stores complete registration by accessing the "Gwangju Public Delivery Homepage," applying for consultation, and after consultation, submitting three essential documents to Wemakeprice O: business registration certificate, bankbook copy, and business report certificate, along with entering app reflection information.
Consumers can join by accessing the "Gwangju Public Delivery" homepage or downloading the "Wemakeprice O" app from mobile app stores or Google Play.
At the official launch on July 1st, issues arising during the pilot operation period and inconveniences felt by affiliated stores and consumers will be addressed. Additionally, a "Traditional Market Shopping" delivery service will be added, allowing fresh agricultural products from traditional markets to be ordered online and delivered to homes.

Park Jeong-hwan, Director of the Job Economy Office, said, "We will provide active administrative and financial support to ensure that Gwangju Public Delivery is activated early during the pilot operation period," and added, "We will actively support the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Foundation to encourage citizens to participate in 'good consumption' to support small business owners with the spirit of coexistence in the Gwangju community by focusing on preferred affiliated store entries and consumer benefits."
