Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Obtains Exclusive Rights for Anaphylaxis Diagnosis Benefit Rider
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance announced on the 30th that it has obtained a 3-month exclusive usage right from the General Insurance Association's New Product Review Committee for a special rider that provides diagnostic benefits for 'anaphylaxis,' a side effect known from the COVID-19 vaccine.
This rider received favorable evaluations for its close-to-life risk coverage, proactive response to social risks such as vaccine side effects, and data analysis utilizing health databases (DB).
The emergency medical anaphylaxis diagnostic benefit is a coverage that pays KRW 2 million once per year when diagnosed with anaphylaxis upon visiting the emergency room. Anaphylaxis refers to a rapidly progressing allergic reaction caused by external stimuli such as food, drugs, or vaccine administration, and has recently been recognized as a representative side effect following COVID-19 vaccination.
The emergency medical anaphylaxis diagnostic benefit rider can be subscribed to as an add-on to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's health insurance products such as Taepyeong Samdae and My Health Partner.
