Mapo-gu Contest for Creating Livable Neighborhoods... Up to 5 Million KRW Support
Resident Meetings, Alleyway Creation, and Space Support Projects Open to Any Resident Group of Three or More Participants
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) is conducting the ‘2021 Mapo-gu Good Village Making Contest Project’ to support the restoration of relationships through communication with neighbors and the activation of resident-led village communities.
This contest project consists of five categories: ▲Neighbor Making Project (Seed Stage) ▲Sprout Stage (Community Meeting Activation) ▲Execution Stage (Social Problem Solving Type) ▲Alley Making ▲Space Support Project, with a total budget of 100 million KRW.
As village community activities become more important for residents’ physical and emotional overcoming in crisis situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic, this year, projects themed on overcoming COVID-19 will be prioritized, including various psychological quarantine projects that help residents themselves deliver warmth to marginalized neighbors or heal COVID Blue.
In addition, projects utilizing various participation methods such as non-face-to-face online small groups and side dish sharing through drive-thru are also actively encouraged.
The project briefing session will be posted as an online video considering the COVID-19 situation, and anyone can check it through the official YouTube channels of Mapo-gu or the Village Autonomy Center.
Applications are open to resident groups of three or more people or non-profit organizations residing or having a living area (workplace, school, etc.) in Mapo-gu, and the application period is from April 1 to April 20.
If you wish to apply, you must receive pre-consultation on the Mapo-gu Village Autonomy Support Center website, prepare related documents such as the contest project plan, and apply online to the Seoul Village Community Comprehensive Support Center.
In May, final support targets will be selected through preliminary interviews and the Village Making Deliberation Committee review, and the results will be posted on the Mapo-gu website or individually notified to the recipients in June.
If selected as a final winner of the village making contest project, project funds ranging from 1 million KRW to a maximum of 5 million KRW will be supported depending on the project.
For more details, please refer to the announcement on the Mapo-gu website under Notices and Village Community Announcements or contact the Mapo-gu Autonomous Administration Division or Mapo-gu Village Autonomy Center for guidance.
