[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] On the 29th, the Ministry of National Defense announced that during the full-scale investigation into military land speculation allegations, it plans to review all land transaction records that could potentially misuse internal military information, in addition to the recently problematic new towns.
At the regular briefing on the same day, Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Bu Seung-chan stated, "The full-scale investigation is underway," adding, "We are finalizing the process of specifying the personnel and scope of the investigation, and will also obtain consent forms for the use of personal information from the relevant individuals."
In this regard, a Ministry of National Defense official explained, "We are currently conducting practical work to investigate all personnel responsible for tasks related to housing sites and urban development."

The scope of the investigation includes not only new town development, which is the target of the government joint investigation team, but also land transaction records related to military unit and military airport relocation projects, areas where military protection facilities have been lifted, and land donation versus transfer projects. Accordingly, personnel currently working or previously employed in departments related to facility operations are also expected to be included in the investigation.
