On the 29th, the Korea Meteorological Administration issued a yellow dust warning at 7:10 AM for Seoul, Daejeon, Sejong, Incheon, the five western islands, Chungbuk, western Gyeongbuk, parts of Chungnam, parts of Gangwon, and parts of Gyeonggi Province. Yellow dust originating from Mongolia and the Inner Mongolian Plateau on the 26th is moving into the Korean Peninsula on northwesterly winds, causing dense yellow dust to be observed in the early morning in Seoul and other central regions, Gyeongbuk, and the western island areas.
Today, fine dust levels are forecasted to be 'very bad' across all regions, and tomorrow, yellow dust will remain with stagnant air, maintaining the 'very bad' level. Citizens with respiratory or cardiovascular diseases, the elderly, and children are advised to refrain from going outside, and those who do go outdoors or engage in outdoor activities should wear health masks.
Today, Gangwon Yeongseo will be mostly cloudy with some areas experiencing raindrops, and in higher mountainous areas with low temperatures, snow flurries are expected. On the west coast, sea fog will reduce visibility to less than 200 meters in some areas, and in the Gangwon mountainous region, low clouds will cause dense fog with visibility below 200 meters, so caution is advised for traffic safety.
Strong wind warnings are in effect for Gangwon Yeongdong and the northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk, where very strong winds will blow until the afternoon. During the day, gusty winds are also expected in eastern Gyeonggi, Chungbuk, eastern Jeonbuk, and other parts of Gyeongbuk.
The morning temperature on the 29th will drop 2 to 5 degrees compared to yesterday, with most regions nationwide experiencing 5 to 10 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high is forecasted to be between 13 and 21 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow and the day after, morning lows will fall 4 to 8 degrees lower than today, ranging from -1 to 10 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 14 and 22 degrees Celsius, resulting in a temperature difference of over 20 degrees. On the morning of the 30th, frost will form and ice will freeze in northern Gyeonggi and Gangwon Yeongseo where surface temperatures drop below freezing.
