[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yongsan-gu (Mayor Seongjang Hyun) Social Economy Integrated Support Center will hold the ‘2021 Social Economy Women’s Leadership Forum’ at 3 PM on the 30th at Manriseojae (Cheongpa-ro 93-gil 42).
The speakers are Gong Younghee, Chairperson of Dusigongye Cooperative, Kim Mison, Chairperson of Social Cooperative Insarang Care, Hwang Hyewon, Chairperson of Yongsan History and Culture Social Cooperative, Shin Minjeong, Director of Yongsan Regional Self-Support Center, and Iresha Perera, Chairperson of Talktumeedab Cooperative, totaling five people.
Jo Jeongok, Secretary General of the Social Economy Integrated Support Center of the district, will serve as the moderator.
They will introduce to the public the achievements and limitations of the social economy organizations they each operate, as well as the know-how to overcome them. The event will be broadcast live through the center’s YouTube channel and will include a real-time Q&A session with viewers.
A district official said, “This year, the district is focusing its administrative efforts on creating a women-friendly city,” adding, “We will also pay attention to discovering and strengthening women’s leadership in the social economy sector.”
The district’s Social Economy Integrated Support Center is a facility entrusted to be operated by the social cooperative Insarang Care and is located on the basement first floor of Hannam I-Park Avenue, 46 Dokseodang-ro, Yongsan-gu.
Its main projects include ▲strengthening networks and collaboration among Yongsan social economy enterprises ▲providing education and consulting support to enhance social economy capabilities ▲supporting social economy incubating and promotional marketing, and since last year, it has also been operating a ‘Resident Technology School’ to foster local management companies.
Additionally, many companies such as Redstone System, Woorisangpo Cooperative, Dream Tree Village, and Geoscan have moved into the center and are developing their capabilities.
Seongjang Hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “Through this forum, we will be able to hear the vivid voices of women leaders struggling in various fields,” and added, “The district will not spare support for the social economy.”
