Confirmed 'Jeonnam Fire Department Reorganization' Including Installation of Sinan and Jindo Fire Stations
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The organizational restructuring plan of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters to strengthen residents' safety response has been finally approved by the Jeonnam Provincial Council.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon), with the confirmation of the organizational restructuring, fire stations will be established in two areas, Sinan-gun and Jindo-gun, which previously had no fire stations and were safety blind spots.
Along with this, the 119 local units in Seongjeon, Gangjin and Sinbuk, Yeongam have been upgraded to 119 Safety Centers, laying the foundation to provide improved fire services to residents.
In particular, to respond to increasingly complex and diverse disaster accidents, the special rescue team and fire aviation team under the Fire Headquarters have been expanded and promoted to a Special Rescue Corps.
A dedicated Life Safety Team has been newly established within the Fire Headquarters to provide higher quality safety services to residents, and Fire Personnel Team and Fire Budget Team have been created to strengthen expertise.
Additionally, the number of rescue personnel responding promptly to on-site safety accidents will be increased, and nine ambulance teams responsible for emergency treatment before hospital arrival and five on-site command units (in Boseong, Gangjin, Hampyeong, Jangseong, and Wando) to respond to all fires will be newly established, increasing the number of fire officials by 444 this year.
Haenam Songji 119 Safety Center has been renamed to Ttangkkeut 119 Safety Center, and Jangheung Gwansan 119 Safety Center has been changed to Jeongnamjin 119 Safety Center, reflecting familiarity to the public and the charm and characteristics of the region.
