First Confirmed COVID-19 Case Related to Closed School Direct Sales Company from Ganghwado Detected in Gwangju

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 28th, as of 2 p.m. that day, one of the two locally infected individuals confirmed was found to be a visitor to the dormitory facility at the closed school on Ganghwa Island.
It has not yet been confirmed whether he is an employee of the door-to-door sales company.
Additionally, investigations by health authorities are ongoing regarding the duration of the dormitory stay and whether there were other contacts.
Classified as Gwangju case number 2205, he was found to have been infected through Seoul Gwanak case number 1452, who is a confirmed case related to the Ganghwa Island closed school.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases nationwide related to the door-to-door sales company’s dormitory stay at the Ganghwa Island closed school is reported to have exceeded 50.
Another newly confirmed case on the same day was diagnosed after undergoing testing due to symptom onset, and the infection route is currently under investigation.
