A man in his 60s fell while hiking on Gageodo Island in Sinan County, and the coast guard is urgently transporting him.

According to the Mokpo Coast Guard on the 26th, at around 12:59 PM on the 25th, Mr. A (66 years old), residing on Gageodo Island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, slipped while climbing a nearby mountain and fell about 2 meters down. A report was received suspecting a leg fracture.
As helicopter transport became difficult due to thick fog, the Coast Guard dispatched a patrol vessel on duty at sea, took the patient from Gageodo, and transported him to Seomang Port in Jindo. At around 9:15 PM, the patient was handed over to the waiting 119 ambulance team.
With the help of the Coast Guard, Mr. A was moved to a hospital in Mokpo, where he is currently undergoing detailed examinations and treatment.

A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, "Due to low visibility caused by spring agricultural fog and bad weather, there are many difficulties in transporting emergency patients in island areas and at sea," adding, "We always remain vigilant and committed to duty to prepare for any accidents."
