Jeong Seok-hwan, the new Commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration,
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Jeong Seok-hwan, the new Commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration, is a former Air Force Major General who served as the Director of Defense Policy at the Ministry of National Defense until last year.
Commissioner Jeong was born in 1961 in Suncheon, Jeonnam, graduated from Gwangju Daedong High School, and was commissioned as the 31st class of the Air Force Academy. He earned a master's degree in Defense Acquisition Management from Hannam University. He has held positions such as Chief of Intelligence Staff at the ROK-US Combined Forces Command, Chief of Planning Staff at the Air Force Headquarters, Chief of Force Management at the Air Force Headquarters, Commander of the 20th Fighter Wing, and Head of the Next-Generation Fighter Evaluation Team of the Air Force. From 2019 until last year, he served as the Director of Defense Policy at the Ministry of National Defense.
