[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The police have launched an investigation after receiving a 112 report that a father assaulted his 5-year-old son in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the police on the 25th, the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency is currently investigating a report that a man in his 20s, Mr. A, assaulted his son, B. The police have first separated the victim child and moved him to a protective facility. It is reported that the injuries are not severe.
Mr. A is suspected of assaulting B by hitting him with his hand on the previous afternoon while having a meal at a countryside house in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, because the child was not listening.
B sustained facial injuries from the assault and visited a medical institution in Suwon with his parents early that morning for treatment. During this process, the medical staff discovered signs of abuse and reported it to the police. Mr. A reportedly admitted to assaulting his son during an interview.
