Jindo-gun to Begin COVID-19 Vaccinations for Residents Aged 75 and Older in April

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it plans to start COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer) for seniors aged 75 and older from mid-April.
The vaccination targets are seniors born on or before December 31, 1946, who agree to be vaccinated and can visit the vaccination center; those with mobility difficulties or severe underlying conditions are excluded.
The total number of seniors eligible for vaccination in Jindo-gun is 5,966. The county will support the entire process including registration of eligible individuals, vaccination appointment management, transportation vehicle support, and monitoring of adverse reactions after vaccination.
To register the eligible individuals, public officials in each eup and myeon, as well as village chiefs, will collect consent forms from seniors, register them in the vaccination system, and vaccinate them sequentially from mid-April according to the vaccine supply schedule.
The county plans to set up a vaccination center at the Jindo-gun Indoor Gymnasium and assign 8 medical personnel and 8 administrative staff to ensure residents can receive vaccinations safely.
Additionally, adverse reactions will be monitored for three days after vaccination, and a close cooperation system will be maintained with pre-designated emergency medical institutions and regional infectious disease specialized hospitals.

A Jindo-gun official stated, “We are thoroughly preparing in advance for COVID-19 vaccination,” and emphasized, “Since immunity is not secured immediately after vaccination, it is most important to continue following personal quarantine guidelines even after vaccination.”
